How to care for your raspberry “Big Fruit”

The sweet, aromatic fruits of your raspberry are especially good in summer desserts or processed into jam. In general, your raspberry variety "Dickes Früchtchen" is quite robust and easy to care for. However, to ensure you can harvest plenty of sweet, delicious, and vitamin-rich berries in the summer, there are a few care tips to keep in mind. Since your new fruit plant thrives in bright, sunny locations, choose a sheltered spot with at most partial shade. A sunny location is still best. The soil should be well-draining and consistently moist. Your raspberry needs sufficient water, but avoid waterlogging. To prevent the plant from drying out, cover the area around it with mulch. When spring arrives, carefully fertilize the plant with organic fertilizer such as horn shavings or compost. Remove any fruiting canes after harvesting. If necessary, you should thin out fresh canes and tie them to a support so they have something to hold onto and are well-ventilated. The raspberry "Dickes Früchtchen" will not only quickly become your new favorite plant, but also a popular spot for snacking!
