Before planting, you should thoroughly water the root ball and water regularly for at least six weeks after planting, then only during particularly dry periods. A sunny to partially shaded location is best. Lightly prune the hedge once or twice a year, in May or September. In spring, it will benefit from a single application of horn meal.
